Puppies omrollen ?

Op een mexicaanse naakthond/xolo nieuwsgroep (ja, die zijn er ook:o) stelde iemand een vraag over haar nieuwe pup. Ik weet niet precies hoe oud ie is, heel jong i.i.g.
Wat vinden jullie van dat verhaaltje ?
Quetzal has had his second puppy shot but I'm still keeping him at home as
there are a lot of street dogs and I don't want him getting sick.
Are Xolo's usually aggressive? So far Quetzal has only shown puppy growling
and biting which I've handled with the puppy roll until he gives or pinch
his nose if he bites. I'd hate to have him be mean with people or my other
dogs!
~ dit heb ik geantwoord~There are no dog breeds usually agressive. It's just puppy behaviour.
They grumble and bite, that's normal. You just have to help him
understand what behaviour is good (tolerated for people) and what's not.
If he bites you too hard you give a little scream, he should let go then. You can talk angry too.
Rolling and holding a dog on his back is not dog behaviour. A dog gives over himself, the don't force each other (only with playing).
~dit antwoorde iemand anders~Holding a puppy on it's back and gently talking to it and giving it a little
tummy rub and scratch behind the ears is very important. They should be held
that way every few days and not released until they rest and do not struggle
with it.
It teaches them that they can be submissive to humans and not be fearful of
trusting us. This is dog behavior. The puppies do it to each other often in
their
play time. The mother also does it to the puppies sometimes.
If this is done early, beginning at two or three weeks it helps the pup learn
that
the human is the alpha in the pack and a kind and gentle alpha at that.
This is not a behavior that should be initiated on a mature dog that has
never experienced it before unless it is done by a very experienced dog trainer
who
has a thorough understanding of the individual dog's behavior.
Toch ?
Nou ja, commentaar graag.
